Why  guys who are raised in the  Western Culture, go back to India to get married? Is there something wrong with Western Cultured women?

   Recently, men have been going back to India/Africa to get married for various reasons that never make sense to a lot of westernized women, especially me! I always asked family and friends: Why would a guy want to date all these different women here, but in the end settle down back home? So I decided to ask men and women from Toronto to see what their answers were to this mind-boggling question. Here are some responses that Sindhoor.ca received, and of course they will remain anonymous.

“because they think women back home are more “wifey” material……very basic”

“because they are cheaper”

“because mummy & daddy told them too”

“they want someone to stay home, cook and clean for them, raise kids and take care of their parents, while they can go out and have fun with no holds barred!”

 “…From what I have seen and know, biggest reason you find guys that go to India to find “a wife” is because they feel a woman from India will carry more values that a “typical Indian wife” will carry.  Cooking, cleaning, nurturing, loving, and the stick-to-your-man mentality no matter what, are some big things that most guys feel that girls from India carry.  A lot depends on the upbringing of the guy too, and if the guy feels the need to get married to someone that they know that his mom/dad will appreciate and will welcome to the family.  Some guys for instance want someone similar to their mom, as weird as it sounds its true, and self-consciously some guys don’t realize that’s why they look for women from India. Another possible reason, is, as bad as it sounds, some guys here feel girls from north America are too high maintenance, they wont care and nurture them as much as a woman from India, they go clubbing, they drink, they do this, they do that.... essentially guys that don’t want a girl from here feel girls from here are to westernized, and aren’t “wifey” material.  It’s a pretty hypocritical way to think, cause those very same guys, do the same thing (party, drink, smoke, go out too much, etc). In short, guys from North America, that specifically look to India for a wife, do so to find a typical Indian wife, that will wait on them hand and knees, which is unfortunate, but the worse part is, girls from there gladly do it just to get over to north America.  Not all situations are the same, I’m sure there are some guys and girls in these situations that genuinely want to do it…”

So there we have it boys and girls…the answer to the big question! Although, the men and women have different views on this particular subject, we will never know which sex is right or wrong!!
