MC Advice
Congratulations!
You’re the MC..
Your best friend, cousin, sister or brother is getting married and you have been chosen to MC the wedding! Sometimes it can nerve racking because you don’t know what to say, what stories to share, and how to be when you are on the mic…here are some tips to help you with that.
1. Identify MC Duties
When you first begin your speech introduce yourself as well as your duties of the evening and the timetable. Another tip is do tell how you know the couple and a brief summary of they met.
2. Stay Clam and Relaxed
In order for an MC to be relaxed during his speech is to have a timetable and point form notes, just like in school. So This way you are organized and you can breathe a little. Try not to pull a last minute on these speeches, because it can become a disaster!
You want to put time and effort into making your role as the MC, as natural as possible and easy.
3. Do not take the Spotlight!
Let’s be very honest, this moment is for the bride and groom! Its not for the MC to take away from them and start his own comedy!
A successful mc is unassuming letting the limelight clearly fall on the bridal couple.
Also it is your job to help both sides mingle, a couple of games help with this well. This also keeps the guests entertained.
